This forum, bbPress.org/forum, is using what appears to be the Subscribe to Topic plugin to send email notifications. I have been told that this plugin does not work, so I would like to ask the question, “How is the bbpress forum doing email notifications, because it works the way that I want email notifications to work on my site.”

The last time I posted about this, I was told that the plugin did not work in 1.0.2 and that 1.0.2 had built in support for this. I am fairly certain that 1.0.2 does not have built in email support and I would rather not downgrade to 0.9, but I might if that’s what it takes. Can anyone confirm this or offer a better solution?

bbPress.org is running trunk (r2540 at this very moment), whom includes topic subscription. You’ve to download bbPress trunk to have that feature; I suggest getting it via SVN.

Would you please elaborate? I tried to search around for “trunk” and svn but only got confused. What exactly is it that we need to download?

You can download bbPress latest version, located here, via SubVersion.

mr_pelle I tried the upgrade from 1.0.2 to the newest trunk version. Just got a white screen when after uploading the new files.

I’m running wordpress 2.9.2 deep integration.

I also tried doing a separate install but it tells me includes backpress is missing in bb-includes

Is there any special procedure I need to follow?

If you downloaded trunk via SVN, BackPress is included, else you’ve to download it from here.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do I download all the files from http://svn.automattic.com/bbpress/trunk/ at once? In my browser they all appear as a bunch of individual links. Do I need to FTP into this address or something?
