    Never mind, who calls the function is irrelevant as the magic all happens in the function itself.

    Hm, I’m really sure I posted a link. Has it been removed?

    Anyway, the links are created by bp_get_options_nav() in buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-template.php – just haven’t figured out who calls the function yet.

    Thanks for the good advice – turns out that the theme was the culprit.

    Next step I started deleting all “add_filter” lines until I found the bad apple.
