In reply to: Mapping WordPress tags with 2.0 tags
Since my coding skills are modest I went ahead and asked Justin Tadlock (you need to be logged in to see his answer (best bucks you’ll ever spend)), to whom I always trust a reflective answer.
But he’s answer only gave me little hope as well. So for now I’ve shelved it.
In reply to: Mapping WordPress tags with 2.0 tagsOk thanks. Does the bbpress plugin use custom taxonomies for topic tags? Because if it just used good old tags (read old school taxonomy), wouldn’t my problem be solved?
Maybe a feature request/idea for future releases of bbpress.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 spam comment overview missingOk thanks for the reply. It’s just a pain dealing with the frustrated users in my forums. But I guess you know all about that
In reply to: Translating to spanishBut bbPress.org.es why don’t you help with the official translation on glotpress?
You can find the Spanish one here https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/es/default

In reply to: bbPress 2.0 spam comment overview missingIs there any way round this problem. Because more of my good old users gets their replies marked as spam. This happens even though their comments doesn’t contain links.
Is kismet more tricker happy in bbpress, than WordPress? Because I haven’t experienced these problem to the same extend with the wp install, that I’ve had for about 6 years now.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – UpdatesWhen editing a forum topic from the WordPress backend it is updated with a new timestamp (as if it was just published).
This is annoying when trying to make a bunch of SEO stuff (in this case with Yoasts SEO plugin) with existing post titles and excerpts. Are there any reason why this happens, and is there an easy way to disable it?

In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – UpdatesI too have upgraded to RC2 and when my users try to update their profile they get this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get_error_codes() on a non-object in /hostroot/voipbloggen.dk/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-common-functions.php on line 1392

In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – FeedbackHaha good point. And sorry for my ignorance
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 spam comment overview missingAhh you’re right it is in the reply spam, so only 1 and 2 above is a problem…
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – FeedbackSorry. But that thread doesn’t want bugs either
I’ll just do what John wrote in the long thread you link to, and write a new thread for each issue (hoping they won’t drown in the flow of regular bbPress queries)
I understand that we did wrong, but I don’t understand why a moderator didn’t just split the thread, since I think the comments are very valid regarding bbPress.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – FeedbackWhen editing a forum post or reply from the regular WP backend the revision dictates that the post should be on top in the forum flow.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – FeedbackI’ve encountered a little problem. When adding description to a topic-tag, it looks like the shortcode feature is missing a linebreak
For instance here: http://voipsnak.dk/ip-telefoni/emne-tag/fritzbox-2
In reply to: Can you make a separate forum for bbpress 2.0x?In reply to: Can you make a separate forum for bbpress 2.0x?I second that, but as far as I recall it has been discussed elsewhere. But I think it’s a good idea…
In reply to: Show bbpress forum as homepage1. Create a page with this shortcode [bbp-topic-index] (All shortcodes can be found here https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-short codes )
2. Go to http://websiteaddress/wp-admin/options-reading.php
3. Choose the page you created in the first step to be your static homepage.
4. There is no fourth step
In reply to: Pagination in bbPress 2.0This solved my problem: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-plugin-updates/page/36#post-89745
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – FeedbackI have tried the plugin for a while now. I have ported a big PHP-Fusion installation to bbPress.
I have two comments so far:
1. There’s something “funny” about the reply post type. I have written this issue regarding it: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/replies-sometimes-link-to-weird-content
2. The RSS feeds are also clunky as far as I can tell. Here’s my experience: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/rss-feed-in-bbpress-plugin-doesnt-work
I also had an issue with the search, but since I just wanted a sitewide search, i just implemented Google CSE, and it’s working great for me.
I’m all for adding more settings, anytime rather that than having to punch a bunch of stuff into the functions.php
But to sum up, it’s already a lot better than what I have used for the past couple of years with PHP-Fusion.
In reply to: Swedish for 2.0 pluginWhy not go the official way? https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin
Here it looks like the plugin is 100% translated in swedish

In reply to: How to enable search in bbPress pluginFair enough, and thanks for the great reply.
I think I will go with Google search for now: http://www.google.com/cse and take a rain-check at a later stage.
In reply to: How to enable search in bbPress pluginYep. I just saw that too. It shows the entire topic or reply. If you click the topic nothing is wrong, but if you click the reply, it is shown really weird with a commentform under each reply…
In reply to: About Search Field in BBPress 2.0 Beta 3I too miss the ability to search across the entire WordPress installation. Any news on this? A forum without search capability isn’t much use. Unless you would want users to keep making new threads to already answered questions
