I have askimet installed but it is not running. In the moderation and discussion I removed the requirement that the author must have a previously approved comment. That is the only setting that might have had an effect.
There is nothing in the Comment Blacklist box. Seems strange that changing the email only, not the username, would stop a user from being able to post.
