Good version, but it break some tiny things in posting unfiltered HTML and codes snippets, I wish to see bbPress 2.3.2 soon

Same thing here, for example when trying to add class name for pre tag it breaks.

Okay, not sure if this is the reason, but after your last reply a searched a little bit, found this ticket https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2070 and started to think that it’s a problem in the URL.

The only difference between XAMPP and MAMP (free) is that XAMPP uses “localhost” host name, while MAMP (free) uses “localhost:8888” when using MAMP ports by default (MAMP pro uses “localhost” that tell why it works OK with you). So I went to MAMP preferences and changed the ports settings to use default Apache and MySQL ports to use “localhost” instead of “localhost:8888”, and finally posting topics and replies is available again 🙂

Even better I setup a virtual hostname manually in MAMP (free) and the everything works fine.

I hope this will help others with the same issue with MAMP (free). Thanks for your time @johnjamesjacoby and @netweb, great work and keep it up.

@johnjamesjacoby So, when I’m working on bbpress on MAMP (not pro) and while I’m working, I found the 2.3 update notice, then I hit “update now” link. After the update I just tried to post topics or replies and all what I get is the “Are you sure …” ERROR. What is the reason in your opinion?

The update works good on XAMPP for example as well as the build-in localhost I setup on mac, I just wonder what’s happened, is it bug in the code? MAMP configuration issue? php version?

I have installed XAMPP 1.8.1 for Windows and see no issues with ‘localhost’

For those using MAMP, what version are you using?

    @netweb
I’m using 2.1.4 (the current). As I said the problem doesn’t appear with all localhost environments, I tested “MAMP”, “DesktopServer” (uses XAMPP), “Bitnami MAMP Stack”, live host and Mac OS X built-in localhost. It works with every thing but MAMP and Bitnami. I could say the problem with MAMP, BUT there was no problem with the older versions of bbPress, this makes me thing that the problem is in bbPress, not MAMP.

I’m having the same error message (Are you sure you wanted to do that?) as @premitheme is having on a local/MAMP server.

    Finally, I’m not alone 🙂

Update: Tried “DesktopServer.app” which is based on XAMPP, it worked!! On “Bitnami MAMP Stack”, it DOESN’T work (the same as MAMP). I’m going to try XAMPP itself and even will setup Apache/PHP/MySQL manually on my Mac and see this makes any difference.

Hope that bbp developers can help us, with all the appreciation. Why I can use 2.2.4 on MAMP while I CAN’T use 2.3. I’m using the latest MAMP version BTW.

Just FYI, installed on live host and worked fine, but no way on localhost!! This makes development impossible. I always develop for bbp and wp on localhost without any issues, can someone tell me what is happening, I tried to search but no success.

Looks like I’m the only one with this issue …

    Anybody?

I have a problem! Tested the latest official 2.3 version (and rc1) and cannot post topics or replies and always get “ERROR: Are you sure you wanted to do that?”. Creating forums is OK.

This happened on a fresh localhost installation (MAMP) of WP 3.5.1 and bbp 2.3 using TwentyTwelve theme without any other plugins or themes installed. Attached a screenshot …

Error when posting topic or reply on bbPress 2.3

The search function is great BTW, well done! Just hope to find a fix for the mentioned problem as it makes 2.3 useless.
