In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3
Regarding: the subscribe (Forum) favorite/subscribe (Topic) options wonβt work at all in a groupforum (buddypress) the problem seems to be the javascript: forum.js and topic.js which won’t load.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3The Fav/Sub issues are resolved, except for the Buddypress Groups with forum. In the meantime I migrated to the production server: http://www.starry-night.nl/latest-topics/ so far so good.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3Forget the issue:
A somewhat more important issue:
the link to the forum in the topic(s) views:
Solved.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3Well, i’ve got RC1 running is my test environment. I only have some small and minor issues to iron out.
I noticed that the Favourite/Subscribe separator doesn’t show (and both words are not seperated at all) until one of the 2 options is clicked.
when one of the 2 is clicked, both buttons are shown correctly
A somewhat more important issue:
the link to the forum in the topic(s) views:
Furthermore (and reported with the last beta), the favorite/subscribe options won’t work at all in a group (buddy press) topic.
However, the release seems solid π
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3@johnjamesjacoby And impatiently we will wait, is Beta 3 already there?
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3In the meantime I migrated the second beta to my live site, http://www.starry-night.nl
I noticed (after the migration) that trashing a topic WITHOUT replies leads to my WP: Not Found page. So the handling could be improved there (or a bug entered the code).
When trashing a topic with replies BBPress jumps to what looks my first topic (BBPress) entries.
All and all, very nice upgrade, I can’t say the BBPress runs real faster (yet).
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3It seems that the shortcode: [bbp-topic-index] (which I use as the landing page on my forum and in a few navigation tabs) isnβt working in my 2 test environment installs. Could this be confirmed?
Confirming the Permalinks (settings) solves the issue in both env.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3No thx, I started to love BBPress after some time π …
It’s not giving them moderation capabilities indeed. No popup in my env., only a textfield.I will start by disabling plugins, see if one is causing the problem.
Another small (or big issue π ).
When a topic or reply is viewed in the backend (edited) uploaded images are kind of big.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3Thx for your reply. I’m holding back on the migration in the meantime.
Other question, assigning a forum moderator to a forum (subforum not category) doesn’t seem to work. I assigned a user by his WordPress Username.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3Regarding the [bbp-topic-index] issue.
I ran the buddypress repair tools, succes in my main test env., not in the other. For your information.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3He Guys,
It seems that the shortcode: [bbp-topic-index] (which I use as the landing page on my forum and in a few navigation tabs) isn’t working in my 2 test environment installs. Could this be confirmed?
Best regards,
Marc
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3After hours of adjusting my bbpress child theme templates, and troubleshooting I found that the favourites and subscription items where still missing … after some more digging I found that:
<?php bbp_topic_subscription_link(); ?> <?php bbp_user_favorites_link(); ?>
is missing in the loop-replies.php template file. I think this is a oversight? Adding the above two function calls to loop-replies.php make both options appear.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3@netweb Thx!
In reply to: Custom Subscriptions Emailor when using buddypress:
would be nice if the function of this plugin could be integrated in BBPress.
In reply to: an easy New Topic buttonCool, no thx!
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3@johnjamesjacoby Thx for your reply.
I’ll wait for Beta 2, the manual upgrade resulted in the return of pagination in the topics view. Let’s see what Beta 2 brings π …
In reply to: an easy New Topic button@namruff15, thx mate. I like the simple solutions as well.
This behaviour (not showing when a forum is empty) is exactly what I wanted (for me it made no sense to have a button above the topic form). I will look into it (if still wanted).
Regards,
Marc
In reply to: bbPress 2.6 Release Candidate 3@johnjamesjacoby Hi John, is it possible to run the update script manually?
I’m adjusting all my templates to the BBPress 2.6 versions but it seems that the update script didn’t run.
For example, i’m missing pagination in topics view, and in a single topic view, i’m also missing pagination and the favorite / subscribe options (the latter is related I guess).
Regards,
Marc
@netweb Thx for your reply.
“Create a ticket on Trac and if you can, take a stab at writing a patch maybe?”
I will create a ticket, and why not try to do it myself π .
In reply to: Is there no tool to fight profile SPAM in BBPress?Use Cleantalk, I use it on my own site WP/Buddypress/Buddyboss site … almost 100% reliable.
Hi Stephen @netweb ,
Is it possible to integrate the above (functionality) (except the theme dependent functionality) in future BBPress releases. As a user, for me it’s a integration issue between Buddypress & BBpress.
Best regards,
Marc
I am using the original Buddyboss Theme, this gives me the chance to show who likes topics and replies (with link to userprofiles) below the content, and some nice extra logic:
In reply to: add my own menu option to the bbp-reply-headerQuick solution but not really what i’m looking for (i’m looking to add a function as a real menu option).
I order to add a Like option to the BBPress header menu in topics and replies I resorted to this quick solution (not perfect yet):
<span class="bbp-admin-links"> <?php echo get_fav_or_unfav_button_for_bpp(); ?> </span>
Add after <
?php bbp_reply_admin_links(); ?>
in loop-single-reply.phpIn reply to: Help with custom bbpress Like/Dislike pluginHi all,
Not to hijack the thread, but another solution:
Integrating Buddypress favorite system (aka like system) with BBPress
I order to add a Like option to the BBPress header menu in topics and replies I resorted to this quick solution (not perfect yet):
<span class="bbp-admin-links"> <?php echo get_fav_or_unfav_button_for_bpp(); ?> </span>
Add after
<?php bbp_reply_admin_links(); ?>
in loop-single-reply.phpBut mission accomplished, the integration of the Buddypress Favorite system with BBPress is complete.
