In reply to: Best bbpress polls plugin
FYI – I have been in contact with Peter through his site, there is a 20 character limit to possible answers.
In reply to: Best bbpress polls pluginThanks for looking into this Pascal. Unfortunately being logged in does not make any difference.
On the poll with the longer wording, I can select a button, and it goes grey when I press vote, but the number is not registered, and if I refresh, the vote is lost.
On the other poll identical in every way, with the same log in, just shorter wording for the options, behaviour is as I would expect it; and the vote is remembered.
In reply to: Best bbpress polls pluginHi @peterwsterling – Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Is it OK to ask a question here?
Is there a character limit to answers?
Please take at look at the test poll I set up here: http://www.walthamforestforum.org/forums/topic/poll-test-4-identical-to-problem/
I can select an option but clicking “vote” has no impact.
The otherwise identical test poll here: http://www.walthamforestforum.org/forums/topic/poll-test-5-please-ignore/ that has cut down answers operates OK.
In reply to: Best bbpress polls pluginHello @peterwsterling
Is this plug in still being updated? I have updated bbpress and now voting on a poll has no effect.
In reply to: Can I do this?I did go with bbPress, http://www.WalthamForestForum.org is now up and running, and very happy with it by and large. However, I still haven’t successfully answered question number 6 above. The bbPress like button plugin linked to in the first answer would be perfect if it worked, but it doesn’t (administrators can like, normal users can’t). I just need a simple thumbs up option so users can show their agreement with other peoples posts (thumbs down as well would be even better).
The $150 being asked for bbPress functionality on RatingWidget is just far more than I can afford. Not saying it’s not fairly priced but it does far more than I need.
Are there any other options? Could the programmers possibly consider making it a standard part of bbPress? It does seem like such a standard function nowadays.
In reply to: Newbie help – profiles and layout through themesThanks for your replies. Robin, thank you very much, especially for your link at the bottom pointing me in the right direction to set up a child theme. I feel my understanding has come on enormously. I also have a nice wide space for the forum answers!
