Lanie is a passionate advocate for accessibility and disability rights, with a focus on creating inclusive digital experiences. As a totally blind, autistic individual with multiple health conditions, she brings a unique perspective to usability testing and aspires to become an accessibility consultant. Lanie is currently studying programming through freeCodeCamp.org and Braille proofreading with the NFB, aiming to develop accessible applications that benefit the disabled community. An active member of the open-source community, Lanie is particularly interested in contributing to projects that enhance accessibility for people with multiple disabilities. She runs online support groups and blogs about living with multiple disabilities, sharing her experiences and insights on platforms like Mastodon. When not immersed in the world of technology and accessibility, Lanie enjoys gaming (particularly word games, RPGs, and MUDs), reading sci-fi and fantasy, and is embarking on an adaptive gardening project. She lives in Texas with her Miniature Pinscher, Squeaker, and is working towards establishing a nonprofit organization to support individuals with multiple disabilities.
