    @zaerl

    Just making sure you were aware that the code posted above was what I needed. Thanks.

    Thanks. Weird code though. Wish bbPress was more like WordPress…

    In reply to: If Admin

    I mean just the url, so like:

    [a title=Edit Forum Profile href=ENTER PHP CODE HERE]Edit Profile Link[/a]

    In reply to: If Admin

    Is it possible to return just the url for the profile edit link?

    Would work as a quick fix. But would much rather use built-in code etc. Any ideas how long this bug will take to fix?

    Okay the problem is defo with being logged out. When logged in you get the correct Avatar (your own) when viewing profiles. However when logged out you don’t get the guest avatar but the user of the profile your viewing.

    So to clarify I do get the User Info like you do, but the not when logged out! And the array doesn’t work when logged out so there is no info to show.

    If I’m not logged in then that code shows 0 but when I visit the profile page of a user the avatar will change to that of the profile I’m viewing.

    If I’m logged in then I get the following mess:

    What I want to happen is if you are logged out then show the mystery man, if you could help me to do this, it’d be much appreciated. Thanks.

    that code throws an error Call to undefined function print_f()

    The avatar shows correct every but when viewing the profile page, it’s as though bbPress treats that as the current user and changes the avatar.

    You say you get your own avatar when viewing a profile, what happens if you view the same profile but logged out? Do you get mystery man or the profiles avatar?

    Works fine except when viewing the profile of a user the avatar becomes that of the profile you are viewing regardless of whether you are logged in or not. So for example if I view /forums/profile/cameron it would show camerons avatar even though i might be logged in as john.

    Thanks, those worked great. Had to change the author link though as that function spits out the anchor tags itself.

    I used this if anyone is interested:

    <a href="<?php user_profile_link( $topic->topic_last_poster ); ?>"><?php topic_last_poster(); ?></a>

    Another quick question though, I’m try to show the gravatar for a logged in user in the header and the mystery man if not logged in. This is teh code I have so far, but it’s not working very well, it always shows the mystery man and shows the avatar of the profile your viewing and not the logged in user.

    <?php if ( $avatar = bb_get_avatar( $user->ID,$size='48' ) ) : ?>
    <?php echo $avatar; ?>
    <?php unset($avatar); endif; ?>

    Thanks

    In reply to: Stats

    I got the plugin working. But it’s clearly a different plugin to what they are using over at that website as it shows different stat information and in a different format.

    I think I found a much better way to get around it. Just wrap the new tag with the old tag, as it check for the forums if none then don’t run the new code.

    <?php if ( bb_forums( $forum_id ) ) : ?>

    <?php if(bb_forums(array('where' => "where forum_parent = $forum_id"))) : ?>

    This only works for forums that have subforums. If I have a forum that is just top level and has no subforums when I view it it blows up saying Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /nfs/c03/h05/mnt/52704/domains/paperviewmagazine.com/html/forums/bb-includes/functions.bb-forums.php on line 84

    If I switch the original if statement on instead it doesnt break, so it’s defo the new code. Any ideas? Thanks

    I tried the code zaerl posted, but it when viewing forums it requires the $forum_id within the function to display the correct stuff otherwise it will show the same as the front page and not the selected forums subforums. I need to use $forum_id with the array posted so I only get the top level forums within the chosen forum.

    I tried doing this to see if it would combine the two:

    if(bb_forums($forum_id, array(‘where’ => ‘where forum_parent = 0’)))

    but it just showed all the forums for that forum and not just the parents

    Any updates? Looking to get this implemented asap. Thanks.

    Cool works great. How do I do the same for the sub forums page where the tag looks like this:

    <?php if ( bb_forums( $forum_id ) ) : ?>

    @kevinjohngallagher

    Any help making one? I don’t understand the loop in bbPress very well.

    Thanks

    Also noticed that the KEYS are not the in the database just the SALTS only for both WordPress and bbPress. When installing bbPress it asks for both so what happens to the data you give for the KEYS? As it doesn’t save it in the DB just the SALTS. And why do you this stuff in the DB and the config files?

    Sent them.

    Quick Q: Why do I have to have the SALTS in both the DB and Config files? Also would the COOKIEPATH be causing the problems because I have the forums on a subdomain?

    Thanks

    Tried those. Still not working :( Really annoying. Any ideas? Thanks

    @psycheangels

    Looks like some of that code could be useful. I’m not a PHP whizz though. Would you or anyone else be able to help me *rewrite* it to what I am wanting to do above?

    Much appreciated.

    In reply to: bbPress loop help

    From what I can tell it’s gonna require a foreach statement to do what I want.

    In reply to: bbPress loop help

    Okay here is how I want it to work:

    <?php if ( bb_forums() ) : ?>

    <!-- FOR EACH TOP LEVEL CATEGORY BUILD A DIV WITH A H3 AND OL -->

    <?php while ( bb_forum() ) : ?>

    <div class="box">

    <?php if (bb_get_forum_is_category()) : ?>

    <h3><a href="<?php forum_link(); ?>"><?php forum_name(); ?></a></h3>

    <?php endif; ?>

    <ol>

    <!-- FOR EACH FORUM BUILD A LI (only show top level children not children within those) -->

    <li class="arrow f_unread">
    <a href="<?php forum_link(); ?>">
    <strong><?php forum_name(); ?></strong><br />
    <?php forum_topics(); ?> Topics / <?php forum_posts(); ?> Replies
    </a>
    </li>

    </ol>

    </div>

    <?php endwhile; ?>

    <?php endif; // bb_forums() ?>

    I only want top level cats and forums to show on the front page, clicking on those will show the sub-forums when you view in the individual forums.

    Can anyone help?

    In reply to: bbPress loop help

    @kevinjohngallagher

    I missed read you post earlier. Yeah getting bbPress to display like phpBB would be an awesome starting ground for me. If you could find those files/links that would be much appreciated.
