hadn’t thought of that. but no, i don’t think so. your comment got me searching around again, and this time i found it! I did a “quick edit” on the page, and saw a check box that said “allow comments”. unchecked and now it’s gone. I guess that setting overrode the “screen options” (or that for something entirely different. anyway fixed, thanks for responding!
