Ifollowed the install directions but when I went the URL where I had uploaded there was not installer. I got a bbPress forum page with a login box in the top left and a Forums: page not found error.

    What do I do now?

Please someone give me some advise. When I go to the URL where I uploaded bbpress I do not get any sort of installer. I get a page called Forums.

I did have buddypress installed before but I deactived and deleted it to see if that would get rid of the problem but it did not.

Do I need to do something else before I can install bbpress?

    Please someone help me out.

Ok I got the installer to appear by dropping all bb_ tables in my database.

Now I have a whole new problem. I have run the installer but for some reason in step 3 the location is coming up wrong. It showing: http://www.wvk9sar.org/newsite/plugins/buddypress/……

I changed it to http://www.wvk9sar.org/wall but it still says it installed it in the wrong location.

I have no idea why it is doing this. I deleted all bb_tables again and am ready to attempt the install again but I need to know where it is pulling this non-existent location from.

I don’t know if it matters but the location http://www.wvk9sar.org/newsite was the location I build the site in and then I moved it to the main domain. I did originally install buddypress while it was in the newsite location but I deleted that plugin and all tables before trying to install bbpress.

It would be nice if it were clearer what buddypress includes and does not include as I thought the forum component was part of that plugin.

    Please please help!

I’m sorry to say that this is a buddyPress issue.

Buddy press is not bbpress compatible, and it’s forum plugin isn’t this version of bbpress, but they call it that for some unknown reason. It causes so much confusion.

I’m sorry to say, but if you use or have used BuddyPress. There’d nothing we can do to help.
