Transitional Living Homes: A Helpful Step After Treatment

It can be hard to get back to normal life after detox or inpatient care. Transitional Living Homes make that change easier by providing structured peer housing in neighborhoods. Residents promise to stay sober, go to recovery meetings, do their chores, and go to counseling. They are also encouraged to work, study, or give back to the community. There is enough control in the environment to keep people from slipping up, but not so much that they can’t grow. People who are ready to be independent but still want the safety of shared responsibility and community should live in these homes.
