Why do some of my titles show weird characters

    On my notification emails, some of the titles of my topics look like this:

    How can I fix this? Thanks in advance..

    hmm, these are html’s way of displaying the symbols of the keyboard. They shouldn’t show up.

    It could be a theme or plugin issue

    Plugins

    Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

    If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentytwelve, and see if this fixes.

    It could also be an from the HTML entities not being correctly imported from a previous forum.
