Limit posting to certian forums

    Hi fellow bbPressers!

I’m wondering whether it’s possible to prevent members from posting to a certain forum.

For example, I would like only Key masters, Admins, and Moderators to be able to post in forum ID-1. So “members” wouldn’t be able to post there. The remainder of the forums would be open to everyone.

Is this possible? If so, how?

    Thanks and go bbPress!

This plugin used to work just like that for 0.9 I believe:

    Thanks for your reply, Chris.

I haven’t tested it out yet, but it looks like that plugin will hide forums from members. I want regular “members” to be able to see the forum and read and reply to it but not be able to start their own topics.

    Does that make sense?

As a followup, that plugin doesn’t really do exactly what I’m looking for.

The hidden forums plugin actually blocks viewers from viewing a forum. But what I’m looking to do is prevent non-moderators from starting new topics in a specific forum.

They would still be able to post replies, just not start new topics. I’d greatly appreciate any help.

There was a plugin called Read Only forums too, which would do what you want I think:

That was good for up to 0.9 as well. Might need modification to work with 1.0.
