Yes, but WHEN are you going to intergrate bbpress with wordpress.com and offer hosted forums to go with the blogs? :)

I am testing out bbpress with wordpress and it appears that a user cannot be in the dashboard for both the blog and the forums at the same time. Is this true?

That's wrong, i can use both WP and BB at the same time.

I have integrated bbpress with wordpress without problems,
To have the same header in bbpress and word press I include
require_once('../wp-blog-header.php');
in the config.php in bbpress, to have in bbprress some wordpress functions, but the bbpress admin interfase can't load.
There are some comments about?Posted: 2 years ago # -
Bit confusing but got there in the end but for an odd problem with user count and posts per day adding up to 49,ooo ?

My installation of bbpress has no my-plugins/ directory, so this is useless to me right now. I just installed the latest version with no real alterations. Did I do something wrong? I'm a bit frustrated. Please email.

you must create the my-plugins directory yourself

in the forums root? I did that. Must I do something to enable it? The WP plug was immediately available in it's admin page when I installed it. I don't get that with this plug.

OK, I just read the plugin documentation. Disregard.

Do both wordpress and bbpress need to be in the same databse?

I was testing this out and discovered that if I attempt to register a second account with the same email address as an existing account through the WP login screen, I get an error.
However, if I do the same thing through the register form in bbpress, I get no error AND no email. The user is subscribed, however, but the default WP role is not assigned to them.
I am using the bbpress integration plugin in WP as well as the WP integration plugin in bbpress. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

Would like that the way one writes comments in Wordpress would be the same as one write posts in bbPress. Same markup, maybe wiki-markup.
P.S. To get bb_admin to work while integrating the Wordpress header use the following:
if (file_exists('../wp-blog-header.php'))
require_once('../wp-blog-header.php');Posted: 2 years ago # -
Do all wordpress template tags work then (same DB, wp-header included)?
Maybe in the forum sidebar the last 5 articles from wp.Posted: 2 years ago # -
Hmm, I am confused. bbPress-Wordpress Integration says we just need to set the wp prefix in the configuration. So, is this plugin still needed?

Hi I have successfully installed BBPress here:
http://www.seidon.com/forums/I'm about to load WordPress on the root level here:
http://www.seidon.com/I don't mind that the blog and forum will have unqiue 'looks' that's O.K. for my purposes. My goal is to obviously have users register once, and use one set of credentials to comment on both the blog and forums.
Since I installed BBPress first, will that hurt me? Do I need to uninstall BBPress, load WordPress first, then load BBPress back in again (pointing at the same database)?
Looking forward to some comments, thanks in advance!

I have both the newest version of WordPress (2.2) and bbPress (0.8.1)
This plugin isn't working at all.
