Does this work with name-based permalinks? For example, if the forum is without permalinks as:
http://forum.domain.com/forums.php?id=1
...but with name-based permalinks is:
http://forum.domain.com/forums/first-forum
Will it still work? If so, where to find the ID?
It will work with permalinks or not.
You can get a list of forums by first logging in as admin and then adding
?listforums or ?forumlist to your forum URL
Thanks _ck_, nice plugin. I appear to be having a few problems though.
I've edited forums.php and topic.php as instructed however bbpress still shows "New Topic in this Forum" on a forum that I've restricted to reply only.
I also receive these errors: Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in <snip>/forum/my-plugins/read-only-forums.php on line 62
Any idea to why I'm receiving these?

agibbins are you trying to use this on bbPress 1.0? 1.0 is not supported.
I am, damn, that's unfortunate :(
Can you recommend any alternative plugins with similar functionality? I just require a plugin thats able to make a forum reply only to all but moderators+. Thanks

not yet supported (kinda update in progress) or no plans to update this plugin any time soon ?
just to be honest, this would be one of the most important plugins for my new bbpress driven web project.
Upgrades for 1.0 won't happen until December when it's reached some kind of stability.
Hey _ck_ - Just wondering if there will be any update to this plugin or if you're aware of an alternative method on how to set read-only forums.
