I again suspect sessions because attaching to existing does not need session support.
Creating a new account with openid requires session support working properly.
Does Human Test work on your site? Because it uses sessions too.

Thanks for the quick response. I installed Human Test, and that works fine.
Without Human Test installed, I notice that no session is created when I try to register using OpenID (in my case, no file is created in /var/lib/php5/). I guess that means that either the OpenID plugin is having trouble with the sessions, or it's dieing before it gets far enough to create the session.
Anything else I can try or test?

If you are using this under bbpress 1.0, it's possible that one of the action hooks is not firing because of all the changes, which is preventing sessions from starting. I am not fixing any of my plugins for 1.0 until December because things continue to change as 1.0 is really a beta.

my bbpress edition is version1.0.2
and i have activated the openid plugins.
how can i make a web link to your openid plugins module. and then users can go to a unique page to use your openid module to log in. i do not want to intergrate your openid module to other module. just one a link in main page and then visistors click it and then go to another page to log in.addtional: what is your donation link?i do not give you money but can donate a link to your donation page!

I've created a new version of this plugin based on the source from _ck_'s version. It's works out of the box and user registration is done as required. Download from OpenID Plus for bbPress.
