Automated bot registration is becoming a problem on bbPress. This is an easy way to stop virtually all of them.

This plugin adds a new field at the bottom of your registration page with two random numbers to add together. Uses a few tricks like javascript and entity encoding to slow down the smarter bots.

Now supports bb-anonymous-posting plugin with a challenge question automatically placed above posts/topics.

No template edits or core modifications required, 100% plugin based,

Eventually will add image based (captcha style) writing as well as "negative fields".

    I have not yet tested this on 0.8.3.1, though it should work,

    Hi!

    I've tried using your plugin under 0.8.3.1 version of bbPress and it's not working properly. I entered the correct answer but it always shows the "Human only please" word...Please help!!!

    Hi...

    I check the content of the $_Session['HUMAN_TEST'] and it seems that the value is set to null everytime the function human_test_check is being called.

    Hope to check this issue.

    Hi..

    I've figured out already the problem. bbPress Ratings and Human Test plugins conflicts with each other. Anyway, to download fixes for Human Test, follow the link below.

    But this will not fix the problem between the plugins.

    Hi, sorry I missed your comment.
    So even with 0.07 there is a conflict with the ratings plugin?
    I will have to investigate, I've never used the ratings.

    I have a similar plugin on my WP sites and it basically stopped any dud rego. Just installed this and it seems to be working fine.

    I installed it on my own machine & it works fine in my local test environment. However, when I uploaded it to my LIVE server, it seems to always go to the error screen regardless of whether you put the right number in.

    Anyone else had this issue?

    DJP I need to know what other plugins you are using
    and possibly your server details (centos? windows?)

    You probably have some kind of session conflict.

    I have my hosting with iPowerWeb. Noit sure what server set up they have, but if you have a look at:

    Your configuration is very similar to the one I use on bbshowcase (except I have many more plugins but the server and php are the same)

    There's only one option you use that I disable and that's session use_trans_sid which really shouldn't affect this but I'll try disabling it to see if it makes a difference.

    Give 0.7.1 a shot when you see it appear here and let me know...

    I have downloaded & installed 0.7.1 & still have the same problem. It works fine on local, but not on live. Aargh!

    I've also been having a problem with the login form at the top of the page not refreshing once I login, but will post that on another thread when I find the appropriate topic.
