This is already possible in bbPress 1.0, though is not enabled by default.

Ah I couldn't figure out why it didn't work in 1.0 even though the code seemed to be there.
Well it at least gives 0.9 the ability now too.
Is the duplicate email address problem solved completely in 1.0 ?
