chipbennett: Your username is very simple to figure out - it's your profile URL on most forums, and it's displayed on your profile page.

Call me crazy, but doesn't obscuring the login name help prevent hacking attempts against the displayed account? Aside from the asthetic of a "nice" display name, that is the primary reason I can think of for using display names.

What about adding functionality to prevent spoofing, as an alternative to disabling display names?

Great plugin. It works great!

However, for some reason I cannot call the user name from WordPress (with the WP-BB synchronization method).

Is there a way around this?

Blocks the alternate Display Name functionality in bbPress 1.x to prevent spoofing other members/admin.
