I put this inside your bb_avatars_show() function

if( $post_id = '' || $post_id == 0 ){
$post_id = get_post_author_id( get_topic_id() );
}

This work for me for topic.php

I change
$link = get_user_link( $author_id )

to
$link = get_user_profile_link( $author_id )

This work for me.
