sorry for late reply (well i live in GMT+7) :) .. and i just downloaded and try the 1.1.4 but the result still same. And so i decided to fresh install a bbpress a create 2 user (1 admin, 1 normal user) without any plugins activated other than post count plus and found the source of the problem, and that is the pretty permalink function of bbpress.

If the permalink is set to none (no pretty url used), there is no input field for post count displayed when the user editing their profile but if the pretty permalink turned on (numeric or named base), then the post input field will be displayed

I'm having the same problem as bedbugger

"Is anyone else having trouble after installing bbpress o.83?

I had everything running fine under my last install and I carefully reinstalled everything.

I can go to the /pm page, and I can even send a message.

I can't read a message by clicking on it, and I can't click "PM this user" under a post (even though I did as the instructions said). Either of those yields an error (goes to my 404 page).

Thanks! "

Thanks for the reply and btw i'm running 0.9.0.2 and just tested it again by redownloading the bbpress and use the default theme (right before i write this post) and then trying to edit the post count but the result is still same (normal user can edit their post count)

I guess I follow what you are saying in that WP is fetching the bbPress RSS feed via PHP. If your cookie method works in other cases, it should work with my plugin. But I don't think it's possible to send passwords via URL ("get") anymore in bbPress? This isn't a limitation of my plugin but of (newer?) bbPress.

By the way, kinda dangerous to send passwords that way as it will show in the logs.

In theory, you could show the feed via ajax (thereby using the user's password/browser) but that's probably more work that you want to do.

Hi _ck_, what a great plugin mate!
Just a tinsy suggestion. I use bbpress as a private forum in a multi-author blog. I used to show rss in wordpress' dashboard, so users don't have to check forum rss by themselves. The problem is that wp doesn't use (can't?) bbpress cookie to get the unhidden rss, so it always fetches it blank.

In older versions of bbpress I had something like this in wp-admin/index-extra.php:

$rss = @fetch_rss('http://my.blog/bbpress/rss.php?adminkey=generic_password');

And then in bbpress/rss.php I use that key to check if the rss petition was made by someone who knows it. Then if the key was correct, show rss. If not show something like "sorry, private rss".

I know it's very rudimentary but... it worked. May be this concept can be used in your plugin to allow fetching of private rss without user cookie.

Again, great work!

tnts, on custom themes you must make sure you still perform the bbpress actions like
do_action('bb_head');
in the header and
do_action('bb_foot');
in the footer or many plugins will not work.

I' m using this and get quite a few spam's. Even if Akismet catches them, I'm using the "Moderator New Post Notification" plugin, so I get an email for every spam.

One thing that would be great is a "human-test" feature that could go with this plugin, something like the human test for registration plugin, http://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/human-test/.
I don't have the skills to put that together, but if someone would have a go at that I think it would be great!

quick hack for vimeo integration, add this to provider.inc.php (where it makes sense) - this is by far not bulletproof!!! like i said it's a quick hack:

'vimeo' => array(
    'width' => '425',
    'height' => '350',
    'pattern' => 'vimeo\.com/([0-9]*)',
    'index' => 1,
    'code' => '<object width="[WIDTH]" height="[HEIGHT]"><param name="movie" value="http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=[ID]&amp;server=www.vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=&amp;fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=[ID]&amp;server=www.vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=&amp;fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="[WIDTH]" height="[HEIGHT]"></embed></object>',
    'page_url' => 'http://vimeo.com'

I've found a bug:

I use the Private Forums plugin and when a normal user checks out the statistics, he can see the hidden topics in both the "Top Topics (per post)" and "Top Topics (per views)". Not that they can enter the private areas of the forum, but they can see the titles.
