When I installed 1.1.4, we were no longer able to edit posts ("Topic Not Found" error). I didn't put it together with the plugin upgrade. But I just upgraded to 1.1.5 and all is working fine now. Just an FYI there for you...

Yes the 2M php limit is mentioned in the FAQ. Most people don't have access to the php.ini on shared servers but if you do, well you figured it out.

2 things,
1 thanks for the great plugin.
2 i had one issue, it was with php and its upload max of 2mb. It was a simple fix but took me a bit to figure it out.
The error I was getting was just a failed. Nothing was being uploaded and next to failed it would put 0k for the size. I tried a little excel file and it worked great and everything was uploaded. The fix was to change my php.ini file. I found this line, which is the default, upload_max_filesize = 2M and changed it to upload_max_filesize = 10M I then had to place the php.ini file in the folder with the bb-attachments script.

I'm having a problem with this plugin. It seems to be messing up multipage threads.

With the plugin enabled, if I go to a thread with multiple pages, and then try to go to the next page, the page redirects back to the first page. Without the plugin, bbPress functions normally.

The plugin was working properly before I upgraded to the latest version.

edit:found your contact page at your amazon link, but since i'm not sure whether is it okay for me to contact you through the email address listed on that page, i think it'll be better for me to wait for your response

Yes I pretty much gathered it was a permalink issue as it's a bug somehow with the simple code I use to test if it's in a tab, but the question is *why* on your server and not on others.

Can you tell me anything about your server? Apache?
What version? What version of PHP? This actually may be a bug in bbPress's "repermalink" feature and not directly my code (which relies on it in when using permalinks).

sorry for late reply (well i live in GMT+7) :) .. and i just downloaded and try the 1.1.4 but the result still same. And so i decided to fresh install a bbpress a create 2 user (1 admin, 1 normal user) without any plugins activated other than post count plus and found the source of the problem, and that is the pretty permalink function of bbpress.

If the permalink is set to none (no pretty url used), there is no input field for post count displayed when the user editing their profile but if the pretty permalink turned on (numeric or named base), then the post count input field will be displayed (and is editable by user without admin privilege)

I guess I follow what you are saying in that WP is fetching the bbPress RSS feed via PHP. If your cookie method works in other cases, it should work with my plugin. But I don't think it's possible to send passwords via URL ("get") anymore in bbPress? This isn't a limitation of my plugin but of (newer?) bbPress.

By the way, kinda dangerous to send passwords that way as it will show in the logs.

In theory, you could show the feed via ajax (thereby using the user's password/browser) but that's probably more work that you want to do.

Hi _ck_, what a great plugin mate!
Just a tinsy suggestion. I use bbpress as a private forum in a multi-author blog. I used to show rss in wordpress' dashboard, so users don't have to check forum rss by themselves. The problem is that wp doesn't use (can't?) bbpress cookie to get the unhidden rss, so it always fetches it blank.

In older versions of bbpress I had something like this in wp-admin/index-extra.php:

$rss = @fetch_rss('http://my.blog/bbpress/rss.php?adminkey=generic_password');

And then in bbpress/rss.php I use that key to check if the rss petition was made by someone who knows it. Then if the key was correct, show rss. If not show something like "sorry, private rss".

I know it's very rudimentary but... it worked. May be this concept can be used in your plugin to allow fetching of private rss without user cookie.

Again, great work!

tnts, on custom themes you must make sure you still perform the bbpress actions like
do_action('bb_head');
in the header and
do_action('bb_foot');
in the footer or many plugins will not work. It's a simple line you have to add, look at the source for the default template to see how it's done.

I've modified my theme from Superbold and haven't been able to make this work for me. The buttons just won't appear.

edit: turned back to default theme and everything seems to be ok. Any idea how to make this work with my theme and WP-header?

Plugin works great for me except for one small problem (well, major in my case).

Whenever users post code in between backticks, as is the preferred method with bbPress, the code is deleted upon submission of the post form.

This is a great idea. However, when uploading an avatar the default gravatar feature for bbpress takes over - there's no way to switch gravatars of. I've tried to uncheck the checkbox in my admin panel for gravatars bt everytime I click submit it rechecks itself again.

Can anyone help?

I've uninstalled this plugin until it works properly.
