Private Forums does experience that "turn off" issue. I am uncertain if it's being maintained anymore. Try my Hidden Forums instead. It doesn't have a fancy admin menu (yet) but you really only need to set it up once and forget about it.

I have just installed and tested this plugin and found:

1. Email notifcation doesn't work
2. A poster is not informed that his/her post is being moderated and will appear once approved - when they hit "post" their post does not appear and they receive no message to indicate why!

I'm going to have to deactivate the plugin for now, out of fear of losing anyone who tries to post on the forum. It's a pity, because I think a Moderation Hold plugin that replicates the sort of automatic mod hold for new posters that comes as a default with WP is a great idea for bbPress.

Hi, Thanks for the great code.

Two things:

1. Email notification doesn't work at all. I don't even see code for it.
2. When I approve a new topic, the "topic_last_poster_name" is set to blank. (I removed the code from line 439, and it works OK now.)

FYI, I'm using v0.9.2 of bbPress and 0.4.1 of Moderation.

Remove:

topic_last_poster_name = '$uname',

Warning: sprintf() [function.sprintf]: Too few arguments in /home/dtnet/public_html/forums/bb-plugins/support-forum/support-forum.php on line 680

I am using the latest stable version of bbPress intergrated with the lastest stable version of WordPress MU.

EDIT: Seems I'm not alone, I posted this then seen the person above me posted the same error about 5 hours ago...and there was somone else befor them, maybe I should have read the other comments first. But it seems the OP of this problem mentioned in for posts stickied to the front page, I also get it for normal sticky posts in the forum, both on the forum and and the recent posts list on the front page.

"I found a bug.
When I turn the show/hide vs messages to hide forums/topics
and set some topics to private, all the topics get privatized....
or some strange selection of them do.
Now when I turn set it to print "private!!!" the privates forums/topics seem to work as expected."

I have that same problem, except the fact that Dave's solution is leaving my forum completely blank. What to do?
