Hello,

I’m planning to start a new forum based on bbpress.

My only problem is that the actual version (1.0.2) doesn’t have email notification working (topic subscription) working.

My idea is to install the latest 0.9 version and add some plugins for email notifications. But at the same time I saw that the trunk version already have this feature implemented, so I’m wondering if I should go with trunk version and them change to the stable version when this feature is implemented or if I should stick with 0.9.

What do you think about this?

There’s no way to “downgrade” from v1.0 or trunk to 0.9 if you decide differently. I’d start with 0.9 and wait for trunk to become final.

IMO, the trunk is almost stable and can be installed on a live website.

But if I use the trunk version now, will be any option to convert from trunk to 1.1 when it’s out?

You can always upgrade. Trunk to 1.1 will be as simple as uploading the new files.

I would also recommend starting on 0.9… you can’t downgrade, but you can always upgrade.
