   We are running bbpress 1.0.2 and we have had several user requests for a function that will let users subscribe to a topic or get an email notification that another user has replied to a post. I've looked through the extensions here but cannot find anything on this.

   Every topic has its own RSS in the form site.com/rss/topic/topic-name

   You may install the trunk version of bbPress (it has that feature in-built) or install this plugin by _ck_ - http://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/subscribe-to-topic/

   Thanks Gautam. That pllugin was easy to install. Unfortunately, I believe it uses phpmail, which we have turned off on our server b/c we use Google Apps for all our corp email.

   Anyone know how to change the plugin to utilize 3rd party smtp?

   What is the 'trunk version' of bbpress?

   That is development version of bbPress, ie. one that will be released in future.
