   What I want is something where everyone can view topics in a specific forum, but only registered users can reply (normal) and only a specific userlevel and higher can post new topics.

   Would any of these plugins be useful?

   Support Forum
   Private Forums
   Change Roles

   I think editing out the capability to post for certain member roles would do the trick (the last plugin).

   No, none of those will work unfortunately. I only want one specific subforum to have different roles. The change roles plugin was the closest to what I wanted, though.

   I need something like this too. Trying to make a plugin that does this by hiding that forum from members but only when they want to create a new topic in that forum. This way they can reply, but not create a topic (cause they can't select it when creating a topic cause it is invisible for them).

   Still working on a few issues, but theoraticly it should work :)

   It would be really nice to have something along these lines as well. I would like to be able to change permissions on individual forums so that mods and admin can post, but others can reply (or not) but not post new topics.

   I use the "Privat forums" plugin and it works great, only members can access the boards.

   Btw. I think anonymous posts are not good for a forum (spam)

   I need the same plugin.
   Problem of "Privat forums" every member can psot.
   e.g u create a news forum you will have the porblem that normal member can post news.
