two questions . . . i’m building a site for a non-profit that offers peer support, etc., so the forums must be private – read & write permissions only to registered members. i don’t think i need anything as intuitive as s2member, curious if there’s a simpler way to accommodate?

so, i’ve noticed that this is in the hopper (the HOPPA!) and others are just as curious. i’m fiddling with WP-Members, and you can restricted certain Pages specifically. However it requires a “Custom field” value to be added – which, I’ve noticed, isn’t available when editing Forums.

Is there a work-around (other than creating a forum portal ‘Page’, which would still leave the content unprotected), or am I barking up a tree others have already?

Right now it has to be accomplished with various plugins and some trickery, but it’s on our radar for a future version. See #1805.
