When I put a category id in the latest replies widget, the widget simply fails to appear.

It works of course when I put a forum id in it.

Please can you tell me if the widget is meant to show replies from all forums within a (forum) category?

I mean of course a forum parent (category) –
putting its ID in the widget should show all the latest replies from the category’s sub forums….but doesn’t work.

No, from memory the widget does not support adding a category to then show all the topics from all the sub forums in the widget.

We have a ticket tracking some enhancements for the widgets in a future bbPress version, I’ll add this request to that.
