Hello, when I tried to access forum slug URL ” example . com/forum ” it gave me not found page, I don’t know if it is meant to be like that but I didn’t like it so I made the forums base the same, so is there a performance/seo penalty or errors tend to happen cause of that? of course it show me the two errors ( Possible bbPress conflict: Forum slug ) in the admin panel but everything else work as supposed, so is it okay?

It’s probably not great to have domain.com/forum/forum/foo/

Think of what your community is about, and do something creative instead.

    domain.com/discussion/about/foo/

oh sorry, I forgot to mention that I unchecked the ” prefix the forum slug with forums base ”
so mine would be only domain.com/forum/topic/
so aside of links conflict is it okay for performance?

Sorry to bump this, but I’d love to find out about this myself:
Is there any negative effect if forums base and forum slug are the same when “Prefix your forum area with the Forum Base slug” is unchecked?

I hope we can consider that no answer is a good answer! :D

    No negative consequences, no.
