Instead of bridging the forum ...

   BBPress and WordPress = same creators ... so a simple question : why, during the install, would be not possible to have 2 buttons radios with ...

   Option One : create a new DB users
   Option Two : use the actual WP DB users

   ?!

   I think this would be an idea for later versions (around 1.0 or so) ... very nice idea =)

   You could hack it in the meantine. Select the same password for the new username, and then using phpMyAdmin you can modify the user tables so that the new user has the same username as the WP user.

   With the integration instructions and plugins, it is more difficult, but already done without any other hacks to core or database.
