  • I am wanting to use this on my site, I am needing to know if it’s okay to install while the site is already created with members and do I need buddy press. Any help you can give me will be very appreciated.

    Hi there,

Installing with a preexisting wordpress install is absolutely fine, and you don’t need buddyPress.

I’d suggest using this excellent tutorial:

    http://wpbbpthemes.org/integration/

Thank you for your reply. I have uploaded it and when I actived it, it said, “invalid header”. It is showing in my ftp but it’s no where else. It’s not showing at all in my installed plugins, in my inactive plugins, but it is inside of my plug in folder. What do I need to do? It doesn’t seem to be activated because it’s no where to be found but in my folder.

bbPress is not a plugin for WordPress (unlike BuddyPress, which IS a WordPress plugin, and includes forums that are based on bbPress.)

You install bbPress along side WordPress (or by itself even, if you want) but it does not become part of your WordPress installation like a plugin.

Oh wow! After reading that, I don’t see how I will get this going at all. But, I thank you for your time.

The isntallation process is no different to the WordPress process, there are just a few more steps. And the walkthrough I linked to is very very good and simple :)
