Hiding member and forum activity from google search listings

    Hello!

    Is there a way to hide forum and member activity from Google? Some of my users are getting freaked out that some of their private posts within our community come up in the Google search listings.

    Thank you!

    Hello Robkk,

    Google is displaying Activity Streams and Extended Profile information like this: https://www.google.co.nz/?gws_rd=cr&ei=WpTDU7bLKYqWkwWk8oEQ#q=reauthoring+anton+keijzer

    I hope you have a solution! Our members feel their privacy is being breached. It’s a website for a community of therapists to share ideas and information and a lot of the things discussed are sensitive and personal.

    It would be great to keep these excerpts off Google – but HOW?

    @robkk

    just checked it out and i see that what its showing is buddypress activity streams

    what i thought it could have was just bbpress forum replies showing up in google , cause for that all you have to fix that was noindex bbpress replies post type in a seo plugin like yoast.

    but since this involves buddypress , i suggest you make a topic at buddypress.org

    https://buddypress.org/support/

    tell them your theme
    if you have any seo plugins tell them that too
