Help! How to fix: ERROR: Could not establish a database connection

   Help! I am a designer, NOT a programmer...I finished up a site for a client last week that included a forum and today we are getting this message: ERROR: Could not establish a database connection. I have a more tech savvy friend trying to help me but I can't figure it out.

   Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

   Update, the bb_admin folder cannot be reached... strange! it is on the server but the url says: Oops! This link appears to be broken.

   That error message usually means either it can't connect because the database does not exist or your login credentials are not correct.

   I would check that first before anything...

   Thank you! We did check that. Just resolved with godaddy (would never recommend their service to a client but he already had an account). It was GoDaddy's error. Somehow the database direct address changed on their end and that caused the problem but it is now fixed!
