BB-Press Mobile, Has it been abandoned?

    Hi,

I am building a forum (http://donnasdream.co.uk/forum) to co-exist with my existing wordpress blog (http://donnasdream.co.uk).

I have tried to install BB-Mobile and followed the instructions to the letter however i cannot get it to work. I am using version 1.0.2 of BB-Press and the latest version i can find of BB-Mobile.

As my work for the website involves me travelling around quite alot i really need to be able to access a mobile version of the forum like i can for the main site so i can quickly reply to posts etc (http://donnasdream.co.uk should show a mobile site on most touch screen phones).

Does anyoneknow anything i can do to get this working, even if its a crude work-around (the mobile site is more for me to use as i dont think the majority of the visitors to the site will use it).

    Many thanks in advance

    Az Mansell

is there anything else i can use?

is it worth me abandoning bb-press on my site in favour of another forum?

It depends on what you’re after.

If your forum needs a specific Mobile version, then you’ll need to scout around.

If your forum needs a specific mobile stylesheet/theme, then creating one for bbPress is very simple, but there isn’t a public one out there that I know of.

Forums are tricky things. Worth it, but tricky.

Define your requirements, whats a must have and a nice to have, and you can make a decision alot easier that way :)

Hiya, the mobile version is mainly just for me to check and reply to posts whilst im on the move. The majority of users will be on their desktop computers (the site is for people who are waiting for transplants so stands a good chance they will be in hospital on their laptops)

i wonder if a reply to emails system would work. where i receive an email to a reply, i could just reply to it and it would update the post (facebook has a similar system).
