To activate these super-pretty permalinks, open your &#60;code&#62;config.php&#60;/code&#62; and set the pretty permalinks option to &#60;code&#62;&#38;#39;slugs&#38;#39;&#60;/code&#62; instead, then if applicable (you'll probably know if it is) change the contents of your &#60;code&#62;.htaccess&#60;/code&#62; file to whatever &#60;code&#62;/bb-admin/rewrite-rules.php&#60;/code&#62; tells you to.

<description>&#60;p&#62;On my forum I have pretty permalinks working but for profile pages I'd like to use the username rather then the user id. For example I'd like the url to be example.com/profile/username instead of example.com/profile/1.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I've looked around and tried to do this myself with no success (my php knowledge is pretty minimal). I could really use the help. Thanks.
