Why is this marked as resolved?

Do you have access to the database at all, through your host's control panel or something? If you have access to the raw database somehow, you should be able to recover just fine.

Hello,
I attempted to upgrade and in the process I was not able to locate .htaccess file as instructed to keep. And, I am very bright, it seems that I have miss-placed the database name and password. So, does this mean that I must start from scratch, and if so, what steps do I take that will eliminate any cross-over issues with forum name and my-template, etc.
Could use more than a little help.
RJ
