I agree I didnt have any issues with 0.9.0.3 and 2.7 It is stated if you want to run bbpress on a live site you need to go with the stable version.

I am using bbPress 0.9.0.3 with WP 2.7 and users are integrated, only cookies (logins) are not. I even have the UserPhoto plugin working fine on bbP and WP.

Simultaneous logins were not of great importance to me and for that reason I chose to install the stable 0.9.0.3

Do not install the 0.9.0.3 version. It won't integrate at all with 2.7 If you don't need integration, then use 0.9.0.3 since it's considered stable.

I want to install bbPress and I am currently using WP2.7

Should I install the latest stable version (Brubeck) version 0.9.0.3,
or,
the latest test build of the unstable version of bbPress is 1.0-Alpha-4?

In addition, I'd suggest it's better to report bugs about specific plugins on the topic for the plugin itself in the EXTEND section. Creating brand new topics in the general plugin forum section might get missed by the plugin author.

Also if possible please include the version of PHP and your type of server environment (linux with apache or windows IIS). This is less critical than the bbPress version but helps with more obscure problems sometimes.

Please include the version of bbPress you're using when asking for help. If you are having trouble with WordPress integration, please post the bbPress version AND the WordPress version. If you are using an alpha or trunk release, please include the revision number. It will cut down on the time wasted answering questions that don't apply to your version, or the back and forth of "what version are you running."

Thanks.

Some themes put it in the public footer but there's no guaranteed way to find it other than the admin panel in the footer. And the build number is never available which is critical for trunk builds.

In part it's a security risk if a flaw is found in old versions.

I know sometimes WordPress has a meta tag with the WordPress version, but does bbPress do something similar? Or, can you access something from the public side of a bbPress installation that would tell the version? It would save time helping others by preventing the question "what version are you running?"

I really like bbpress a lot from the moment I saw it. I was checking templating system and I am sure I can make one theme for it and give it free.
If you release new bbpress version with different templating system soon, there is no point to make theme for 0.73. Right?
