remove all bb_* tables from the database you are using.

visit your installation link again and you can now start over.

I want to know if I'm able to remove WPMU with damaging bbP. What I read i need to separate bb_users. Sounds easy but I don't have bb_users table.

I installed bbpress and it worked fine. I wanted to change the URL and started deleting and re-installing bbpress, not realizing I was leaving behind SQL tables, as zaerl told me.

Now I want to delete bbpress and reinstall as it was a fresh install. How can I do this?

I think you don't need that step, drop tables means wipe it out as you said

I have a question in your step #7: What do you mean exactly by "drop it down"? Are you saying wipe out the meta_value for bb_capabilities?

I've solved my problem myself

Just to make easy for new bie like me,

if you installed bbpress with integration setup for your blog and find some problems and you would like to uninstall and reinstall again follow the following steps

1- delete bb-config file
2- login to your cpanel
3- go to phpMyAdmin
4- browse your database
5- drop all bb_ tables
6- browse wp_usermeta table
7- and look for bb_capabilities and drop it down
8- now you are clean and you can go through installation process again

I've done perfectly and my problem was solved

sometimes you can solve your problem with simple knowledge

I deleted the forum file completely and I dropped all the tables that are related to bb_

and reinstalled the forum again as subdomain again

BUT I've had another problem now "installation failed"

the key master could be established although I've deleted all the tables

as I mentioned in the previous post I've integrated my blog to the forum and this might be the problem for not creating the key master for the second problem

I installed bbpress 1.0.2 to wordpress 2.9.1 as sub-domain and the installation process went smooth & I integrated my forum to the blog successfully but by the end of the installation process I noticed a message that said "installation process completed with minor error"
when I tried to access my forum after the installation I faced this message

I changed the key master name to root and I don't know if this was the problem !!!?

I have had a similar problem - when I installed BBPress on my WP site, I suddenly lost the ability to edit or delete existing posts, and EVERY page and post in my site (all Public pages) result in a 404 error except when you're logged in as a member. As I installed BB with the intent of an integration, all the BB tables went straight into the existing WP database, I am assuming my problem lies in a new column within the wp_posts table called "forum_id".

I was also hesitant about editing the DB, though, as I didn't know a whole lot about it. Would also assume that the tables with prefix wp_forums are the ones generated by BB...is this right? Can someone give me some idea of how to fix this, as it is a really serious problem and has basically disabled the whole site (even the home page can not be viewed by non-members).

Now, how do I blend my wordpress site with the default bbpress theme?

What i wanted to do was to have http://www.justinbieberzone.com/forums, but well.. I learned from mistake.

I simply renamed the folder "bbpress" into "forums", to see if it works, but no, it didnt and got error 404.

Then I deleted bbpress folder (i hope all the files too) completely from the directory.

Next, I locate new bbpress folder cos I want to reinstall it, and put it in the right directory http://www.justinbieberzone.com/forums, and its not working. It says that bbpress has already installed.

Now everything is mess up and cant start over from the scratch. Everything is not working, error this error that.

Can anyone help me please?

You need to change the uri setting under bb_meta in the database to the new forum URL, and then change the .htaccess file so it matches the new directory.

The .htaccess file can probably be fixed by turning off Permalinks and then back on. Don't forget to log out and in again too.

The options might be changeable by using __ck__'s All Options, but I have a feeling the URI isn't editable from there.

It might be easier to go back to the other thread, and pursue that path?

All I want to do is remove all the files in my forum directory and reinstall into a different directory.

If I can keep the content that is already in the database that would be a real bonus.

Is that easy enough?

I can't find good instructions on how to do this. Further, I can't even properly get into my bbPress admin area. I log in, but I just get the regular bbPress screen, and when I click Admin, it just redirects me right back to the regular screen. And I do believe this is the result of things going wrong with cookies because of the integration plugin.

However, I can't log out of the other if i logged in with

For example if i log in using WordPress and go to my forums I am logged in but can not log out from that location, i have to go back to wordpress to logout.

The same if I login through forum I can go to wordpress and I am logged in but I can not log out, I have to go back to forum to logout.

Clicking logout button does nothing in either scenerio.

I want to reinstall as some of the configurations are wrong; so i deleted bb-config.php and all bb_* (7) tables

now its showing "ERROR: Could not establish a database connection"
