Thanks everyone, I'm going to try out the first plugin Chris recommended and I'll let the thread know if that's the ticket.

There is also a plugin that does this.

I can't find the plugin link, it was one of fel64's specials and it isn't in the repository. It was called 'page' and added a > at the end of each topic title.

Would anyone know of a way to show the last page of a thread by default instead of the first?

For example, if a thread has 3 pages worth of posts, we want to by default show page #3 rather than #1.

Any ideas? Thanks!

somewhere between 0.8 and 0.9 the profile page became broken for most themes as "threads started" ($threads) was changed to the more accurate "topics started" ($topics)

If you don't want to edit your theme profile page, here's a mini-plugin to fix the problem:

function profile_fix_topics_to_threads() {global $topics, $threads; $threads=$topics;}
add_action( 'bb_profile.php', 'profile_fix_topics_to_threads');

There are two
if
blocks in
front-page.php
, one for
$super_stickies
, another for
$topics
. Remove first one(about 8 lines) and replace second with

<?php
$stickyIdx = 0; $topicIdx = 0;
while ($stickyIdx < count($super_stickies) && $topicIdx < count($topics)) {
    if ($super_stickies[$stickyIdx]->topic_time > $topics[$topicIdx]->topic_time)
        array_splice($topics, $topicIdx, 0, array($super_stickies[$stickyIdx++]));
    $topicIdx++;
    }
if ($stickyIdx < count($super_stickies))
    array_splice($topics, count($topics), 0, array_slice($super_stickies, $stickyIdx));

if ( $topics ) : foreach ( $topics as $topic ) : ?>
<tr<?php topic_class(); ?>>

<a href="<?php topic_link(); ?>"><?php topic_title(); ?>

<?php topic_posts(); ?>

<?php topic_last_poster(); ?>

<?php topic_time(); ?>

<?php endforeach; endif; // $topics ?>

Actually, the replacement is equivalent to inserting 8 lines of code.

I'd like my sticky threads to act exactly like regular threads on the front page "Latest Discussions" section, instead of always being at the top of the list. That is, they'd still appear on the list, but in the order of last posting - the same as all the usual threads.

Is there any easy fix?

How to do it? Write a MySQL query that transfers the info.

Otherwise you could use the bb Post plugin, edit the relevant posts so they get created as threads, and then delete them in WP.

My blog is getting cluttered with tons of useless posts and I'd really like to clean it out, but since I work with multiple authors I don't want to upset them. I figure a fair compromise is to convert the wordpress posts to threads.

The plugin would be a sort of 'one step' process where you run a script or hit a button in the admin panel and whichever wordpress post you select becomes a thread with:

1. the same title
2. roughly the same text (given bbpress' html capabilities)
3. comments converted to replies

In your forum's root directory.. you have to make a folder called: my-plugins and then upload the file there.. Call a blank file: my_resolve_ title.php and add the above codes into it.. make sure there isn't white space before the: <?php and after the last: ?>

Save it, and upload it to your my-plugins folder.. Good luck!

Anyone? Do you think we can get the "file changes" or whatever, to be able to display [Resolved], by the thread's title, that are marked Resolved? Just was wondering.. ;) :)

The [Resolved] being added by the "thread titles" was a modification to the WP.ORG forums and so forth.. it's not by "default" in the download of bbpress..
