http://spectaclar.org is no longer online. Can someone post the code here or link to a working site? If I can find the code I would love to resurrect this project; that is unless someone has a better way of creating a single sign on setup for WP, bbPress, and MediaWiki.

Just curious, have you been able to get single sign-on between phpbb and wordpress?

What I did:
On current install on integrated WP and BBP, added a "wiki/" directory and unpacked mediawiki 1.10.1 there, ran the install, and used the same DB. The wiki, at this time works stand-alone. What's happening here is a version incompatibility issue, methinks, betwixt Authpress and MediaWiki. There are some code structure changes from 1.9.x to 1.10.1 but I don't know what they were.

I do know one thing, no one has submitted this to the MediaWiki team, why not? I should have been able to download it from there and I could even get help from them, if it were submitted.

Theme compatibility between WordPress, bbPress and MediaWiki is a stretch. I have a project on the back-burner that might help with WordPress/bbPress theme integration, but MediaWiki is a big ask.

1) Install WordPress (current version, 2.3.1)
2) Install and integrate BBpress (current version)
3) Install MediaWiki (current version, 1.10.x)

Making sure that they all use the same data container and not to let MediaWiki set any prefixes.

Okay, that should integrate the Auth stuff and some judicious use of DB triggers (using MySQL5) might actually take care of most of the fleas. However, to be real Enterprise 2.0 here, the themes have to integrate aas well. Also, has anyone got WordPress to authenticate against an Active Directory Domain, like they have for MediaWiki?.

If I remember correctly, I just integrated WP and BB first (minus the cookie settings). Then I installed Amember and installed the WP plugin. All 3 were installed in the same database. For BB cookies I think I just set them the same as _cK_ said in a different post here. For WP cookies, I believe that is in the Amember Plugin Readme file.

It wasn't too tough. If you need to know anything else let me know and I can take a look. I've decided to go with PHPBB instead of BBpress but I still have it all installed at the moment. There's nothing wrong with BBpress just want more group and permission control.

Amember has a WordPress plugin but I'd like to know if it cascades successfully through a WordPress/BBPress integration.

Maybe someone can tweak it for PHP5? I dunno, I'm not a PHP Pro.

I'm testing out some things and trying to synchronize WordPress, BBPress and Amember Subscription software. I have pretty much everything worked out, but need a little cookie help if it's out there.

The problem is that I don't want to install the cookie plugin for WP because I already have this in my Wp-config file

I uploaded Authpress.php and added the code to Localsettings.php.

Now when I try to login, I get these errors:

I am not using WP, so the integration is taking place between MW and BB only. BB was already installed, and I have 26 users. Integration took place *after* I installed MW in the same database as BB.

What I did, was, had bbPress and WP installed *first*. And integrated first. Then, I installed MediaWiki into the same database as WP and bbPress. Then applied those extensions and additions to MediaWiki...

Installed Mediawiki. Put Authpress in the extensions folder. Added code to LocalSettings.php. In that file, I tried both with and without these lines, uncommented and with my database information:

# Only include the following if you aren't using the same db as MediaWiki

I've tried every combination, but MediaWiki still looks for the table mw_bb_users instead of bb_users.

My only option is to re-install MediaWiki without the table prefix, but I'd prefer to avoid that.

The whole reason for removing it is, I really don’t have the time for it. I don’t have time to add anything to it, make a theme for it, and customize it anymore.

As for this article, it’s still a good reference guide as what To-Do for getting your MediaWiki, bbPress, and WP login/registration working together. :) I hope you find it as useful as I did. Well, I guess that’s it for now. Tata.

I try to log in and I get this error:

It looks like it's appending wk_ before my user table?

Of course, used the normal database prefix for each one specifically. ;) :) It was mentioned though, that for the mw_ ones, you didn't have to use the "mw_" prefix for when trying to mesh with bbpress/WP.. but, to play it safe, I used the default "mw_" prefix anyway.. Choice is your's really.. :) ;)

i used a centralized mysql table which contains a mesh of all of the variables of all systems!. The reason wy i did that is, some of these usertables contain information which would change the bahaviour of the software, such as roll, last login etc. SO its not a mater of authentication and session ONLY. You also need the other stuff!!!.

i ALSO used a single portal for signup/signin. THIS SHOULD NOT BE SCARY (assuming that thinking does'nt hurt your brain). A good IDE will get everything done for you (search replace globally, find all instances of a function etc).

I reccomend http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ as an editor, and use PHP IDE as an ide ontop of eclipse. Be patiant, if you have'nt installed before, it could be a bit strang, but do take a better part of a weekend to figure out hw it works. TRUST ME, php will be your bizatch afterwards ;)
