Thanks for the response,

That does work and will most likely end up using that solution. I am struggling with getting Swift up and running however. I copied the directory into my hosting and everything. I cannot however figure out how to set up the "connection" with my gmail acount. I found the page on Swift's website that says its a guide but I cannot follow it.

http://www.swiftmailer.org/wikidocs/v3/connections/smtp

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help in advance!

I am not experienced with php or wordpress/bbpress.

I have my bbpress site up just fine, but its not sending out registration emails. I have checked all the easy fixes

Inbox is empty
Spam is empty
tried on gmail, netscape, and hotmail.
Waited over an hour

I believe that the issue has to do with my hosting requiring authentication for outgoing mail. I called them and they explained that they do require this.

I am wondering solutions I could pursue.

Is there a way to make BBpress authenticate?
Or
Can someone provide a guide to getting an alternative SMTP system set up.

Thank you all for your help!

Thanks for the testing. Really appreciate it. I check with the hosting and apperently they have problem with spammer before. That probably the reason why the mail goes into spam in yahoo and hotmail and why it took so long to send the mail. I'll already delete your testing user. Thx again

One thing that helped me with this problem was adding an SPF record (http://old.openspf.org/wizard.html). You have to add this record to your DNS. This really really helped with verification emails, although it's not perfect...

My forum is using gmail for email setting. However my user can't received email when registering using hotmail or yahoo but they received it using gmail. Does it has something to do with the email coding that caused the email to be block? If it is, i really hope you guys fixed it for the next version :).

I also believe there is code on the WordPress side that uses 3rd party mailers like gmail or yahoo to send passwords. This could be easily adapted to bbPress as a plugin.
