It's probably not the CSS, but my guess is it's something related to this specific setup. Maybe the language in use or the RTL CSS or integration with WordPress. bbPress does this by default when you type something that looks like a URL. Here I will just type something and bbPress will just linkify it: http://www.google.com (I typed www google com but with the periods in it)

I agree with Chrishajer. I didn;t know that bbPress does it without a plugin. This as I did not use my forum at all until I had some plugins installed (including bbcode).

@Chrishajer: I don't think it would have anything to do with the CSS file. I'm sure there's a file (I haven't looked) that has the function that parses the post.

bbPress normally does. Looks to be not working in your installation for some reason. Can you try the standard style.css instead of the RTL css and see if the links become clickable?

Also, what plugins are you running? And are you integrated with WordPress?

well, it's a workaround, but
my users will need to put each link in <html> tags?
not so user friendly...

You obviously don't know what BBCode is at all - so let me explain.

BBCode is an alternative to HTML for people to use in their posts. For example, if they wanted to have bold text, they would put this in their post:
[b]Text[/b]

You can download BBCode lite for bbPress here: http://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bbcode-lite/

You then need to save the'bbcode-lite.php file in your my-plugins directory. If you do not have one, you will need to create it. Then go to your admin panel, Plugins, and install BBCode Lite.

Then, in your posts, you will need to enter a URL like this:
[url]http://www.example.com[/url]

or, with a title

[url=http://www.example.com]My Example Site[/url]

Hope this solves your problem. :)

Hi.

For some reason bbpress is not turning the url into hyperlinks, so the user can't click on them to go to the url.

Is is a plugin issue?

Also, any changes that you need made to core to get full RTL working please add patches to Trac http://trac.bbpress.org/

You shouldn't be forced to make a modified redistribution just for RTL text. I'm sure the changes required wouldn't be overwhelming.

This is the Arabic translation for bbPress, I've done it 5 months ago with 0.9.0.2
I was a little bit lazy about posting it here, dunno why :)

All that i do know that alot of people love it in Arabic and already using the Arabic version of bbPress.

Also, I've made a complete RTL version with heavy modifications on template files and a completely new Admin Page Design (CSS Edit).

This is the last version of Arabic Translation for 0.9.0.3 with slight modifications.

Hope that the moderator add this translation officially with other bbPress translations.

You can make bbPress look like WordPress and simply be installed at /forums/ on your website. But bbPress will never be a plugin, it's way too complex for that and has it's own structure.

Because bbPress 1.0 uses BackPress (parts of WordPress), when WordPress starts to use the same common core, it will one day be far easier to integrate the two. But that day is at least a year away.

_ck_, I think in general people would be very happy if bbPress could live in a WordPress page, so you have WordPress header, footer, sidebar, look and feel. The menu item is the least of the problems usually. Everyone wants the look and feel of WordPress and right now that's not the easiest thing to accomplish.

If bbPress were a plugin, which it's not, it would accomplish what most people want.

Are they simply trying to make a link to their forum from their blog and just mask the url so it looks like it's a page of WordPress?

Just install the forums in /forums/ and make a link from WordPress's link administration.

There is no plugin to do that with bbPress that I know of. You didn't actually ask about that initially either. To put bbPress info in your WordPress sidebar, with 1.0-alpha, bbPress Live is great.

The closest thing for you with version 0.9.0.2 is bbSync. bbPress live is for the 1.0 versions.

Thank you but I use version of 0.9.0.2. Another I want to see my forum in a page in my blog theme. Forum becomes a page and when I click on the page name, forum open in page and no in another address. Have any plugin for this?

you just need to use defalt themplate kakumei and
create language folder in bb-includes
then create php file and name it fa_IR.php put this line to it:

p.s: one small correction I made to the stylesheet, was to the header.
In the current configuration, The first letter of the name of the forums, is cut off.
So to fix it, I erased the line:
font-style: italic;
from the file style.css, in the "#header h1 { " section, as seen here:

I don't know how to incorporate it into the trunk or to post a ticket, but I hope what I write will help...

Another small issue (which matters little to me, but is worth noting) :
When the mouse hovers around a header of (for example a forum name): in Firefox, you get the whole line to change color(as it should). in IE you deon't get that effect.
