The test profile that I created cannot Reply to a comment or post a new topic. However they can post a comment in Wordpress. Under the User tab in the Admin panel the profile is listed as having no role. When I update the users role, click save and return to Admin user tab they still have no role. In the bbpress/wordpress intergration tab All wordpress roles are marked as member (aside from admin). What is going on?

Also while user info is shared between the two you have to log onto wordpress and bbpress seperately. Also if you are logged on to bbpress it won't let you log on to wordpress. You have to log ouut of bbpress first then you can log in to wordpress. How do I fix this?

It works just fine in the huge majority of cases. It's nothing to do with FF and bbpress - it's a problem between the server and FF.

This almost seems like a server-side cache issue. I'm having the same problem when adding a topic... the topic posts, but when I go back to the forum and/or the front page (using the link, not the back button) it doesn't show up until I hit refresh. cache in both WP and bbP is disabled, and I don't have this problem on another (identical) server running bbP w/out WP.

Okay, more info:
• In Firefox, when I log into bbPress, I am logged in, but the log in form does not auto refresh to "Welcome, username! View your profile..." Same problem when I log out, it does not refresh to "Register or login..."
• In Safari and IE 7, it does refresh when logging into bbPress, but not when logging out.
• In any browser, it does not refresh when logging into WordPress, but does when logging out.
• In all instances if I hit refresh/reload, it displays the correct message.
• Cookie integration between WordPress and bbPress is otherwise successful, once I'm logged into one, I'm logged into both, and vice-versa.
• Identical problems on multiple computers/ users.

I'm starting to wonder if my problem is different, as it is also occurring with a WordPress install on the same server. WordPress was fine until I did a clean install with WP/BB in the same database. I'm guessing it's a cookie issue? An identical bbPress install on a different server works fine, reset FF, etc.

I freaked-out last night and did a reinstall and closely followed all instructions on this site and http://www.devlounge.net/articles/the-ultimate-bbpress-guide/. I believe most of my frustration has been caused by an ever-shifting hosting environment during this project. The domain has now resolved and everything is working nicely again (after re-install).

About those header errors: I did find whitespace at the end of wp_config.php. Those few invisible spaces kill me every time.

Now, on to outstanding misc. CSS issues...

Thanks for the help.

Those "Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by " errors are almost always caused by whitespace at the end of a file, most likely a config. Is there a blank line after the closing ?> in one of your config files?

No reason to delete the db! You can always use something like PHPmyAdmin to change entries. The relevant settings should be in
wp_options
.

This was directly after you were in WP Admin > Options > General and changed only Wordpress Address and Blog Address? You'd need to change back the options named "siteurl" and "home" respectively. Change them back to IP and see if the problem disappears.

Hello,
I have bbpress and wordpress installed together and they were playing nicely. I change the domain info in the config files and the WP admin to the domain name from IP as the DNS switch went through and suddenly (I say "suddenly" but I'm sure I screwed something up), I get the following errors when I try to login to WP:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/payingfo/public_html/Wordpress/wp-config.php:22) in /home/payingfo/public_html/Wordpress/wp-login.php on line 12

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/payingfo/public_html/Wordpress/wp-config.php:22) in /home/payingfo/public_html/Wordpress/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 275

I also get this error when I try to pull up BBPress:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: load_default_textdomain() in /home/payingfo/public_html/wordpress/discussion/bb-settings.php on line 143

I checked for white space. Anyone have any suggestions before I scrap this and start on another install? I've built out quite a few posts and pages and am not looking forward to deleting the db.

Thanks.

Sounds like you're getting bozo'd. Go to your profile, go to edit, and if the contents of the Bozo: field is "1" then you have a problem. Apply this patch: http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/822?replies=11, then go back to your profile > edit, change the bozo field to 0 and submit changes. You should then no longer have a problem.

I just installed bbPress for the first time, and I've noticed a certain oddity that was incredibly frustrating until I figured out what was going on. The first thing I did after installing was make a bunch of test posts. But after only a couple, the posts stopped showing up. They'd appear in yellow after I posted them, and then, when I went back to the homepage, I couldn't find them again.

Now, I think I've figured out what happened. My guess is that bbPress doesn't like it when one user posts too many times consecutively. (Registering a new user and posting under that account did work.) But those posts don't appear in the control panel under the Content tab. The only place I can find them is in the Dashboard, under "Recently Moderated." And the only way to make them display seems to be to click into the individual post, scroll to the bottom and click "undelete," even though, confusingly, there's also a "delete" link higher up on the page.

I suppose I'm OK with this, but I just wanted to come here and confirm: Is this proper behavior? Am I missing something? What's the post limit? Is there any way to turn it off, even if just for admins? I suspect on this forum there might end up being one or two users making a bunch of consecutive posts, and I'm all right with that. Can I at least get e-mail notification when something is moderated, and can it show up somewhere in the control panel? Plugins, perhaps?

A lot of questions, I know. Sorry, but this was really throwing me off.

Thanks chrisajer, I found what the problem is and it is a strange one (at least for me), has something to do with Firefox, I tried Safari and I can login (although my CSS is messed up, again, my fault). It also works with various flavors of IE and Opera.

I was able to create a user and log in. No problems. Looks like Pretty URLs are off, and all the links to posts, tags, etc all worked.

I did notice the front page layout is messed up. Everything is jammed over to the left, like a div is improperly closed or nested or something.

But, the login is fine and the links to topics and replies all work fine.

Sorry Trent, didn't see your first message, this is a standard install, while I have WP installed and running, I am not trying to integrate the two.
