I believe you have not followed (all of) the steps for cookie integration between wordpress and bbpress. Some of the (hundreds) of integration threads might help too.

how do i change the log out link to use the log out of file of wordpress instead of bbpress, which isnt working for some reason.

im lookin in 'kakumei' logged-in.php file and it shows:

<p class="login">
	<?php printf(__('Welcome, %1$s!'), bb_get_profile_link(bb_get_current_user_info( 'name' )));?>
	<?php bb_admin_link( 'before= | ' );?>
	| <?php bb_logout_link(); ?>
</p>

question is where is bb_logout_link(); so i can change the actual link? which file is that function located in.

thanks

The following is the encypted version of the password "test"

If you go into the database and put that in, your new password will be "test". That will get you going!

In the course of testing I logged out. Whoops, need to log back in but don't have the PW. Check email to look for original welcome email... nothing: never got one.

So I can retrieve it, right? Nope, it's not getting to me. Must be my email address, right? I change it to another one (via database email field change), no dice. Create a new user, no email still.

So I can just look in the db for the pw, right? Nope, that's encrypted. (Good, I'm not complaining, just saying what I've tried.)

Any hints on where to go from here?

mdawaffe asked:

Did you put the .htaccess file in the forums directory?

I guess I could have missed it, but I didn't see anything talking about .htaccess during the basic install process. This looks like yet another item for the 1, 2, 3 Install List. I sooo appreciate the desire to keep this SIMPLE, SIMPLE, SIMPLE but if a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 process would actually cover everything, that would be effectively more simple than a three-stepper that leaves out just enough to throw folks a tiny bit off track. Just my 2 cents.

yea. i put the .htaccess file in the forums directory. before i couldn't get it to work with or without permalinks but now it magically works without. so everything seems to be good. i just don't know why the permalinks wouldn't work.

jessind,

I tried your site in firefox and http:

//jessanastasia.com/forums/topic/1 gave a 404 not found reply (which was then caught by your WordPress for some reason and I ended up at your blog).

Which method did you use to set up permalinks? MultiViews or the rewrite stuff? Did you put the .htaccess file in the forums directory?

Hello,
It looks like I've successfully installed BBpress, but when visitors (or admin) click on a forum post from internet explorer, the page hangs and times out. The post is never displayed. The same thing happens when trying to create a new post.

Is there some firewall issue with my host? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
