Sorry, fresh out of ideas after that. I suspect that bbPress needs to be reinstalled after downgrading WordPress, but I don't know why that failed for you.

I tried re-installing bbpress, but after I got past the first step (inserting the bbpress database info), it brings me to the forum home page. I cannot log in using any of the user id's.

Does bbPress need to be 'reinstalled' after going backwards to WordPress 2.5.1? Like, if the bbPress installation made changes to the database with WordPress 2.6, then you rolled back to WordPress 2.5.1, you would lose the changes that bbPress made to the wp_users and wp_usermeta table, right? Would you need to reintegrate with the WordPress 2.5.1 database?

I have no idea why it's happening, but how about trying some troubleshooting steps.

Can you create a new user and log in with that?

Do you have access to the database with a tool like phpMyAdmin where you can look at the tables and see if the bb_users or wp_users tables are there, and if the user actually does exist?

In fact, I get an error of "username does not exist" and am troubled.
The upshot was the same even if I returned it to WordPress 2.5.1_ja.
When can keep inputting an arbitrary account name by installation of 'bbpress'; database error “ bbPress database error:

［Table 'databasename.bb_posts' doesn't exist ", and installation cannot be completed.］

An installation procedure is bad or is that it is a bug of BBpress0.9.0.2 the problem of the server side?

Sounds like your server does not support slugs or pretty permalinks, or you did not create the .htaccess file. I would start by changing your config to turn off mod_rewrite like this (like 26 in config.php):

$bb->mod_rewrite = false;

That should make your forum visible again.

Thank you for doing this, it's a great update.

I assume you are using the plugin now and not a really old version of bbPress...

Although you can now change the default status, the view still only shows the unresolved topics.

It shouldn't be too hard to add this as an option to the plugin.

I'll see what I can do.

Sounds like you are using pretty permalinks but your server does not support them.

Try setting $bb->mod_rewrite = false; in your config.php and see if it works then.

If that works, then you can try figuring out if your server does support mod_rewrite or multiviews. But first try disabling pretty permalinks and see if your forum works.

Trent, does the maintainer of the code know the localhost problem exists (yes, even with path-to-url.2.php plugin)? The only way I've managed to get around it is by directly editing the "bb-templates/kakumei" files.

Also, another note, I'm using lighttpd on a windows machine. This probably adds to the slash havoc.

flatworm, also, you can contact me via email and I will help get you running off-list. See my profile, go to that website and follow the the "contact us" link and email to support. I will help you out. You don't need to get into the development of bbPress.

Also, you're not experiencing 'errors with graphics' you've got a problem with the path to your stylesheet. That's all. That may very well be a bug, but all software has bugs. Don't just trade one problem for another.

vanilla support forum: http://lussumo.com/community/9/

Also, did you ever look in a rendered page (in your browser) for the stylesheet line? If you do see that (use 'view source' or something similar in your browser when you pull up a page similar to the one you took a screenshot of) post the information from that stylesheet line. My guess is that the slashes are backslashes.

Also, I never understood the point of installing community/forum software on localhost, unless it's just for testing. Even if that's the case, I prefer to test in the environment where it will be live so you're not solving problems that won't ever happen once it's live, and you won't experience new problems that you didn't anticipate.
