bbpress/my-templates/front-page.php is the template file that controls the look of the front page. You might want to put it right before the "discussions" div.

We are setting up a private forum and need to have a few paragraphs show, describing what it's about and who should consider registering. At this point, to the unregistered/unlogged in there's no text at all

http://www.addiva.net/bbpress/

How do I go about adding it? What file in the template is controlling this?

Edit config-sample.php with your details, then save it as config.php. That's the directory where you need to create the two directories I mentioned, my-plugins and my-templates.

Right now, go ahead and create these two directories in the same folder where your config.php is:

my-templates
my-plugins

Then, put your plugins into the my-plugins directory. I think these bare directories should be included in the download package. Maybe there's a good reason they're not, but it just seems silly to me.

It looks like "my-templates" is actually now "bb-templates" but the information on http://bbpress.org/documentation/themes/ doesn't reflect that.

Just a heads up...trying to make sure we don't lose track of documentation before we even get bbpress out of diapers. ;)

Check it out here http://bigonions.net/wp-forums/ it works well with http://bigonions.net/ my MU blog but it is in no way dynamic and is simply a copy of my main theme.

I will, however, release it once it is finished and will provide some kind of tutorial on how i did it as it seems people here are interested.

It is of course not finished at all as i am still editing most of it but you can see the header etc is working ok.

Thanks
Matt
