Well, I have already the Latest Discussions in the Wordpress's sidebar (with a plugin).

But now that you say that, my next objective is to put the latest posts from Wordpress in the BBpress's sidebar. RSS is a good option I can use to do it. I'm going to find how after this.

Thanks for your opinion chrishajer.

Hi.

First of all, thanks a ton for all the hard work that you guys have done making our live easier. I apologies if there is other discussion about this issue (I did a search and didn't find an answer).

I'm integrating my Wordpress blog with BBpress forums and I would like to have the Latest Discussions list in the sidebar for all pages. I already put it in the blog with a WP pluging, now I'm trying to put it in the forum.

I tried copy and paste the code from front-page.php to sidebar.php. It works fine when I'm in the front page, but disappears when I enter in a topic or other page.

So, could you give me a clue, a code or a pluging I can use to have this done???

Any help is appreciate. Thanks.

Check out the file loggedin.php in your template. The admin menu includes this file to display "welcome your_name....". So if you have some img or lists or anything different from a span or p, that file is probably breaking the menu layout.

I think you are probably missing some CSS for the admin page, and it's likely due to the edits that were made. Since you've made significant edits, I am not going to recommend going back to the stock theme. You are going to have to fix your current theme, and without someone here able to log in as admin, they would not be able to see what's broken.

Some tools you can use:
Validate your CSS

I get a lot of questions on how to add more menutabs to the bbMenu. To be short: you can't. This feature will be supported in the next version of bbMenu.

Since I am not a bad guy (and the next release can take a while), I've written a small plugin so you can add menu tabs. It is experimental, so read the read me text before using it!

If bbPress includes a "Plugin" menu or an "Option" menu, it would be natural for all new plugin to have their submenu in it.

Thanks a lot ganzua, but actually, it does not hurt a lot ...

I confirmed that with "global $bb_menu", my fonction could work .... but then, the last array member for
$bb_menu[20] = array(__('Options'), 'use_keys', 'my_options_page.php');
should be a php file located in bb-admin/

So then, you should ask guys that want to install your plugin to move your "option-page.php" in the bb-admin menu. Not very user-friendly.

in the admin-functions.php, there is the function which creates the main menu (and also submenu) : bb_admin_menu_generator()

at the end of the function, you have a "hook" that you can use :
do_action('bb_admin_menu_generator','');

I tried this code :

add_action('bb_admin_menu_generator', 'bbai_add_options');

}

Hi,

I know that you can add a plugin admin page into the admin menu. Unfortunally I only succeed in doing this into the submenu of the admin page. Is it possible to add a new plugin admin page link to the MAIN menu of the amdin area? (so not into the submenu)

And how?

I am currently working on a plugin that has many options and putting them all into the submenu would make it too crowdy/messy

get_top_tags($recent, $limit)
will return an array of tag objects... each object contains the tag ID, tag (tag all lower case), raw tag (tag how it was typed), and tag count (how many times the tag is used). To get the link to a specific tag, you use
get_tag_link()
. You'd want to use the get_top_tags function like this:
get_top_tags(false, X)
where X is the number of tags you want displayed.

You can also pull the tags straight from the database. Here's the code used in functions.php:

$tags = $bbdb->get_results("SELECT * FROM $bbdb->tags ORDER BY tag_count DESC LIMIT $limit")

I'd take out the limit part if you want all the tags. Then, if you want a drop down menu, you can just do this (this is from my head and untested, so it might not work if copy and pasted):

if(!empty($tags) ) :
echo '';
foreach( $tags as $tag) :
echo "<option value='$tag->raw_tag'>$tag->tag";
endforeach;
echo '';
else:
echo "No tags exist";
endif;

Then you just gotta figure out how to either redirect to the desired page using POST data or something like that. Not exactly sure how I'd go about it.

The suggestion for this came up on the wp-forums list a while back, but.. nothing was posted on the "How-To" for it..

I was just wondering, what would be the tags "call" for making this possible? Here's an example of what I'm talking about...

Browse By

Tags

<?php tag_heat_map(); ?>

What's the actual "call" for the tags, to have them all be listed there? Thanks in advanced.. ;):)

Got a bit further, this is my menu code now:

<li<?php
if ( is_front())
{
echo " id=\"current\">";
?>
About
<?php
}
?>

<li<?php
if ( is_front())
{
echo " id=\"current\">";
?>
<a href="<?php option('uri'); ?>">Forums
<?php
}
?>

I know with
if ( is_front())
i determine that I am on the front-page, but how to call my About page? It's called about.php.

Sec when I am on the front page the Forums button is highlighted, but as soon as i go read a topic, the whole menu disappears. Why is that? the menu should stay and the forums button highlighted (cause I am still in tjhe forum)

Some help plz
