I'm currently using custom menu manager and wp-members for plugins. The custom menu manager allows me to set which page links show up in the assigned navigation menu (ie: only "about" and "register" are shown on home page the other page links are hidden), but it doesn't recognize whether the user is logged in or not and the hidden page links are not shown after you've logged in still. With wp-members plugin I have the "members" and "project" pages set to block access unless logged in, but this only effects the page access, the nav link for those pages were still showing up in the main navigation until I used the menu manager plugin which hid them totally not conditionally based on log in status which is what I want.

Is there a php block of code to use or plugin you guys recommend that handles nav link access/visibilty based on log in status? I'm at total loss. Please help me. Visit my site mks76.com/wp/

What steps or food for thought can you give me around allowing users to register through Facebook to then be able to login through Facebook and then be treated like a bbpress user with a profile and the ability to post?

I read the beginning of the topic cause I am very interested in building compatibility between my theme (a child theme of buddypress) and bbpress (indeed I installed the buddypress plugin and the bbpress one).

I don't know if this has already be given as a solution (or even if it actually one :). I copied the bbp-twentyten theme and personnalized it. Then I redefined it as the default bbpress theme, in order it is the one used instead of bbp-twentyten.

What I wrote in the functions.php of my theme:

And thus I have my child theme from buddypress safe and my second theme for bbpress used instead of bbp-twentyten.

All bbPress 2.x plugins are stored on the WordPress.org repository and are tagged 'bbpress'.

bbPress.org contains only pre-2.x plugins and will eventually be achieved completely. Do not use it.

Which are definitely *NOT* compatible with the current version of bbPress, but they have high ratings because they *used to* be compatible.

Can something be done about this? Ratings appear to be disabled.

I'm also discovering that bbPress + buddyPress makes the available plugins list even smaller :/

The vast majority of stuff on WordPress.org is for 2.x (since previous plugins here on bbpress.org) so you should be able to hopefully find something.

I have looked in the standard WP repo for plugins and most of the plugins I have found are no longer supported, were not updated for v2.x, or are just defunct period and not even downloading.

This makes the process of finding plugins very frustrating.

Originally, my team was planning on using bbPress2 for our site, and I really like a lot of the features it offers so far, but the fact that the plugins do not seem to be road-ready may well turn out to be a dealbreaker. :/

So before I give up completely, are there canonical plugin repos anywhere other than wordpress.org?

which suggested to comment out lines 938 and 939 of bbp-user-template.php.

Doing that makes the 404 go away. But now I'm being redirected to my S2member login welcome page... which I don't want. I want forum users who log in to be re-directed to the last forum page they were on. Seems like that's what bbpress is trying to do, it's just adding an extra subdomain in the forum url.

After installing BBpress I can’t log out of my WP without getting a failure.

Any suggestions?

Make sure when you copy files from /bbpress/bbp-themes/bbp-twentyten that you maintain the subfolder structure as well (e.g. css, js, bbpress). I was copying all files into the root of my custom wordpress theme (wp-content/themes/mytheme) without maintaining the directory structure and I was getting some strange behavior.

Hope this helps someone who might be having trouble!
