There is a problem with cookie sharing mainly in that WordPress fails to (because it doesn't know it has to) set a cookie required for access to the bbPress admin area.

But wordpress seems to set a cookie that both bbpress and wordpress recognize (other than not being able to log out via bbpress), and bbpress sets a cookie that only bbpress recogizes. Does bbpress delete/overwrite the wordpress cookie, thus causing wordpress to be logged out after logging in with bbpress?

I'm pretty sure that the only way to fix this is with a plugin for WordPress. I'll have to work one up. When I do I'll post it to the WordPress plugin repository and announce it on the forum here.

Well, at least I'm not alone in this issue.

I haven't made a version of the theme available anywhere yet. I modified the Kakumei theme just for this site. Maybe when BBPress 1.0 comes out I will make a neutral version of the theme for everyone. I could do the same for the Wordpress theme as well.

Hello, I have a little issue with logging in between wordpress and bbpress at my website http://www.ridelegend.com/ & http://www.ridelegend.com/community/

1. When I log in at BBpress it logs me out of Wordpress. I can access the BBpress admin page.
2. When I log in at Wordpress it logs me in at both Wordpress and BBpress, but I cannot log out at BBpress. I can access both the bbpress and Wordpress admin panels fine though, and logging out at Wordpress works.

I have no plugins active other than akismet. My custom theme is based on the alpha 1 theme, but I modified to match the alpha 2 theme via the list of changes in the tracker. Is this just a glitch with alpha 2 or is there something I can do?

Thank you! :)

Hello, I noticed a small issue with BBPress that I have. When a topic has been super stickied it no longer shows up in its original forum. It only appears on the front page. Was this how super-stickies were intended to function? I would think that it should appear on the home page as well as within its original forum. Just a tip!

You changed the installation from forums to bbpress, but you didn't make the change in the config.php. So, your forum is at
http://www.reviewsaurus.com/bbpress/
, but the config has
$bb->uri = 'http://www.reviewsaurus.com/forums/';
  You need to change one or the other (either the folder name or the URI in the config) for it to work.

As proof, I can see http://www.reviewsaurus.com/bbpress/bb-templates/kakumei/style.css just fine.

Hello,

I followed all the steps mentioned in the installation and bbpress got installed properly but it doesn't display the forum properly.

you can see the forum login here : http://www.reviewsaurus.com/bbpress/

but you'll see that it doesn't look correct as no images no css is loaded.

It's a fresh installation and i've not changed anything else. Can you please suggest me what could be the problem....I'm using the pretty permalinks feature....could that be a problem?

Trent - I see you have fixed the problem. Thank you very much !

I will now go to build the forum, and will share with all of you once I made it work (and also, will share my Hebrew translation to the rest of the community)

Again, Trent, thank you very much :)

p.s: one small correction I made to the stylesheet, was to the header.
In the current configuration, The first letter of the name of the forums, is cut off.
So to fix it, I erased the line:
font-style: italic;
from the file style.css, in the "#header h1 { " section, as seen here:

In style.css:
#header h1 {
font-family: Georgia;
/*font-style: italic;*/ <-- this line
position: absolute;
display: block;
color: #444;
text-align: right;
letter-spacing: -1px;
right: 59px;
bottom: 31px;
}

I don't know how to incorporate it into the trunk or to post a ticket, but I hope what I write will help...

Another small issue (which matters little to me, but is worth noting) :
When the mouse hovers around a header of (for example a forum name): in Firefox, you get the whole line to change color(as it should). in IE you deon't get that effect.

Hi Trent. Thank you !

Hi peoples.
I wish to install bbpress for the Hebrew language (which is right to left), for which I need a supporting style sheet (such as the style-rtl.css).

Unfortunately, style -rtl.css is broken (for IE):
http://trac.bbpress.org/ticket/612
(for a month, and much longer then that)

I tried, yet wasn't able to fix the css myself, and until the issue isn't resolved, I can not install bbpress (which I very much wish to do).

I know that once bbpress will work for the Hebrew language, many of the Hebrew wordpress community would love to use it, so the request is for more users then me.

Please Please Please, can someone fix it ?

I had that same problem, and it just went away on its own (?). One situation in which you will get the Topic Closed message (even when it is open) is if you look for a page that is beyond the actual number of pages in a topic. Sometimes (I don't know why), after posting it will take you to a page that does not yet exist, thus giving that message.

I got rid of front page topics, and that seemed to fix the problem. But, since you're not running front page topics, I have no idea why that would happen.

Sounds like you are using pretty permalinks but your server does not support them.

Try setting $bb->mod_rewrite = false; in your config.php and see if it works then.

If that works, then you can try figuring out if your server does support mod_rewrite or multiviews. But first try disabling pretty permalinks and see if your forum works.

I've been using Wordpress for years so when it came to adding a forum to my site bbpress made sense to me. However I'm having some integration issue which I would appreciate some help on.

I've gone through the process of integrating bbpress with wordpress following these instructions http://bbpress.org/documentation/integration-with-wordpress/ which seemed to work fine but...

When I look at my users in bbpress I can see them all there but if I try to edit any of them (to create a modorator for example) by clicking edit (http://www.forums.geekpulp.co.nz/profile/1/edit), I just get a 404

I also have the same issue when I attempt to view any posts/forums create. The url looks like this http://www.forums.geekpulp.co.nz/topic/3?replies=1

I can't remember, does the "cyrstal" theme have just the changed files or all the files? If the only changed files are style.css, header.php, front-page.php and maybe footer.php, I would just add back those files one at a time into an empty crystal folder and see what it takes to get the theme working using a limited number of files and not all of them. It will be one of the files that it doesn't like with recent changes I am sure....

Thanks for your replys.. i'v checked to post-form.php, and it is present in the "crystal" theme.

I tried to switch back to the default theme, and suddenly it worked! Then I switched back to crystal theme at overwrited the original theme files (perhaps i'v done something with the files before).. but no, it still dosen't work as it should :(

Since it is showing on the first page it seems to be working there. I would switch over to the default theme and see if this happens for you and report back. It might be a simple thing with your new theme.

Hi..

I'v installed bbPress correctly (i guess) and intergrated it with WP, and it words fine. The problem is, that the link: http://stasi.se/forum/?new=1
that comes up, when I push "Add new / Tilføj ny (danish) » "

The a form should appear (like the one i then buttom), but all that appears is a info "Hello user" edit etc.. no form..

Someone how know whats wrong, or do you know another link/file that I could redirect the link to, so I will word?

I'v created a user: testtest pass: 0b28fc
- so you can try to login at se the faoult with you own eyes..

I hope someone has a golden solution :)

//And sorry, that the page is translated to danish
